I love it when musicians cover other musicians’ songs. Here’s a cool cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence” from the art-rock group Late Sea:
Sounds great right? Who are the Late Sea? From the band’s website:
Late Sea is an post/art rock trio based in NYC. Late Sea’s dark ambient grooves, coupled with enigmatic poetry have been described as ‘mind-blowing'(Culture NYC) and as ‘distilling musical energies into chamber works of art’ (David Pearl, Telavivian).
The trio has received local and international attention. Their unique mix of electronics and jazz-like instrumentation has been heard in and around New York at Drom, The Spectrum, Apple Studios, Exapno, the Living Room, Petes Candy Store, Silvana, MSM international webcast and more. The Trio has won the 2015 Kevin Spacey Foundation Artist of Choice grant for their upcoming music/film project The Writers Trilogy.
On May 2014 the trio released an EP under the name BERGwith the UK label Glasstone Records to an international and local critic acclaim.
Late Sea are Izzy Gliksberg (vocals, piano, laptop, guitars), Sam Nester (trumpet, laptop, keboards) and Joe Peri (drums, percussion).
