This Monday marks the arrival of the new Powerpuff Girls series on the Cartoon Network and to celebrate, the network launched a website that turns fans into Powerpuff Girls. Called “Powerpuff Yourself,” this website gives fans the opportunity to design their own Powerpuff self.
Speaking with USA Today about the site, Jill King, Senior VP of Marketing for Cartoon Network stated the following.
“Early on, brainstorming, we wanted to give kids the opportunities to remix the Powerpuff Girls in their own ways. The team worked around the clock to create tons of different options and be super inclusive.”
Fans can pick from a variety of different skin tones, hair types, eye color, outfits, and other accessories. King also mentioned that there were all types of Easter eggs for fans to discover.
“We have little Easter Eggs in there, too,” says King, including hats inspired by Cartoon Network shows We Bare Bears and Adventure Time. “There are nods to other contemporary things relevant in kids’ lives.”
Once you’ve completed your Powerpuff, the characters can become downloadable static images, desktop wallpaper and GIFs. Here’s me as a Powerpuff and my real life inspiration:
I had a lot of fun creating my own Powerpuff self and I think you will as well. Post your Powerpuff self in the comments below. The Powerpuff Girls debuts April 4th, on the Cartoon Network at 6 p.m. ET/PT.
