The daughter of Austin music staple, Andrew Venson, Jackie’s early drive for music led her to Boston’s Berklee College of Music, where she picked up a guitar for the first time. Throughout the series’ five amphitheater performances, she supported famed country and southern icons Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw and James Taylor. With a 2015 European tour already under her belt, Venson is slated for early 2016 performances across the United States. Last week Venson played an official SXSW show.  In addition, Venson was recently named one of the 10 Black Emerging Guitarists You Need To Pay Attention To” by SheShreds who described the artist as follows:

“Jackie Venson is one of the most talented up and coming blues guitarists of her generation. With a gorgeous singing voice, a guitar style that is both dynamic and technically precise, and music that blends genres, she is one to watch out for.”
