This past weekend, Millennium Films unveiled the official one-sheet poster for their upcoming prequel to the 1974 classic horror film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
Entitled Leatherface, the film revolves around four mental asylum escapees named Jackson, Ike, Bud, and Clarice. Upon their escape, they kidnap Lizzy, one of the nurses and go on a deadly road trip. The group is pursued by Texas Ranger Hal Hartman, who knows that either Jackson, Ike, or Bud is a part of the deadly Sawyer clan and whoever it is will soon meet his destiny as the chainsaw-wielding maniac Leatherface.
The film stars Stephen Dorff, Vanessa Grasse, Sam Strike, James Bloor, Sam Coleman, Jessica Madsen, and Lili Taylor as Verna Sawyer, who was played by the late Marilyn Burns in the 2013 sequel Texas Chainsaw. The French duo of Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury directed the film from a script by Seth M. Sherwood; based on the character created by Tobe Hooper and Kim Henkel, who serve as executive producers on the film.
Filming has recently completed in Bulgaria over the summer and is set for a 2016 release date.
