After a successful run in China this past February, the historical epic Dragon Blade, starring Jackie Chan, John Cusack, and Adrien Brody will finally see the light of day in the United States this September from Lionsgate.
Chan plays Huo An, a Chinese imperial officer in charge of protecting the Silk Road when he teams up with the betrayed Roman soldier Lucius (Cusack) against the tyrant Tiberius (Brody) in a battle of the ages. Chan came up with the story after researching and discovering the story of the alliance between Chinese and Roman soldiers over 2,000 years ago. Daniel Lee directed the film, which raked in $120US million in China, making it one of the highest grossing films of the year there.
Lionsgate will release the film theatrically and make the film available on Video on Demand outlets on September 4, 2015.
