235 – Julia Mamaea and her son the Emperor Alexander Severus were killed ending the Severan dynasty of Rome. (Possibly occurred on March 19.)

1869 – US Abolitionist Harriet Tubman marries civil war veteran Nelson Davis in Auburn NY

1899 – Phoebe, a moon of the planet Saturn, was discovered.

1922 – The first Bat Mitzvah is held in the United States for Judith Kaplan, daughter of Rabbi Mordecai Kaplan.

1933 – US Ladies’ Figure Skating championship won by Maribel Vinson

1943 – Agnes Moorehead appears in “Sorry, Wrong Number” on the radio program “Suspense”, her most successful appearance

1973 – Sandra Haynie wins LPGA Orange Blossom Golf Classic

1979 – Iranian authorities detained American feminist Kate Millett. The next day she was deported.

1979 – Joanne Carner wins LPGA Honda Civic Golf Classic

1984 – chris johnson wins LPGA Tucson Conquistadores Golf Open

1990 – Thirteen paintings were stolen from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. The value was $100 million making it the largest art robbery in history.

1990 – Colleen Walker wins Circle K Tucson LPGA Golf Ope

1991 – Apple computer head Steve Jobs weds Laurene Powell

1992 – Leona Hemsly was sentenced to 4 years in prison for tax evasion.

1992Donna Summer received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

1993 – Eddie Murphy marries Nicole Mitchell in NYC

1994 – Zsa Zsa Gabor files for bankruptcy

1995 – Spanish princess Elena (31) weds Jaime de Marichalar y Saenez Tejada (31) at the Seville Cathedral in Seville, Spain

1995 – In New York, Madonna celebrated the premiere of her “Bedtime Story” video with a pajama party. The gathering was for 1,500 guests that were in pajamas and had teddy bears.

1997Joni Mitchell announced that she had reunited with a daughter she had given up for adoption many years earlier.

2006 – Television star Adita Wahi weds director Ameet Sawant in New Delhi

2012 – “Twilight” actor Peter Facinelli (38) divorces “Beverly Hills 90210” actress Jennie Garth (39) due to irreconcilable differences after 11 years of marriage
